Lanka’s friend Lord Naseby to pay visit next month
Lord Naseby of Britain, considered a special friend of Sri Lanka, will be in Colombo next month.
He will be the guest of honor at the inauguration of the 32nd annual conference of the Organization of Professional Associations on September 17 at Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel.
“Lord Naseby has accepted our invitation to attend the event,” says the OPA’s president-elect Saman Warusavithana.
The former deputy speaker of the House of Commons personally championed the cause of Sri Lanka against LTTE terrorism and urged the world community to be more positive in its approach towards the island during troubled times.
He traveled to many parts of Sri Lanka and had a personal understanding and knowledge of the factual situation in the country at the time.
