Army Intelligence chief removed
The Director of Military Intelligence Brigadier Chula Kodituwakku is to be removed from his post and posted elsewhere based on service requirements.
According to the Island, the moves comes amidst the Military Intelligence re-organization drive.
On a prior occasion, Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva said that measures would be taken to strengthen the military intelligence units.
He noted that there had been slack in military intelligence in comparison to the level it was at prior to the Easter Sunday attacks.
While Brigadier Kodituwakku has been removed from his post, the next in line is also overseas on training.
Therefore, it is expected that another officer would be appointed by the Commander of the Army to fill the vacancy.
